So, in the past week we've watched 3 movies. Shocking, I know ;) I'm not big on movies but these were recommended by friends/collegues. I had a chance to pick up my stitching while watching! Go, me!

1. Borat - Hilarious. Disgusting. Hilarious. That pretty much sums it up. We were laughing out loud in places, and making puke faces the rest of the time. I'd watch it again if it was on cable.

2. Kabul Express - Loved it! It's a Hindi movie by a new director. Two Indian and one American Reporter go to post-war Afghanistan to interview a captured Tabilan member. The thing I liked about this movie was that they picked the cast according to the country they're supposed to represent, including an Afghan driver and a Pakistani Talib. It revolves around a sensitive subject but is so funny at the same time. Like the comment that America takes away the oil from countries and puts coke instead. LOL! The movie was shot in Afghanistan.

3. Stranger Than Fiction - Eh. It was ok. Not a huge time waster, but didn't make a big impact either. Acting was so so. Nothing remarkable about this one.

That's it from me today! Oh, I sure can add a recent Layout. Also for ztampf CT.

Working on my shorts muslin

I'm working on my shorts muslin for the Wardrobe contest. The pattern I have selected is something that has been in my stash for a while. I never even took it out of the envelope because I was afraid of what I call 'smile wrinkles'.

They are the wrinkles that form in the front and back crotch areas indicating there is a problem somewhere. So far, I thought my full tummy was a problem and it was not suited for a cute pattern like this, meaning I shouldn't wear cute shorts. WRONG! I have always noticed my RTW shorts ride up in the back, the side seams swing backwards giving a 'duck butt' kind of appearance. It happens to skirts as well but not to that degree. Also, my shorts inseams tend to 'walk upwards' when I move around.
I have been working on resolving the wrinkling problem since the beginning of January. Remember, this is the Year of the Pant for me? I want well fitting pants so I've been at it pretty much any chance I get. Here I'm showi…

Itch to Stitch blog tour 2018

It's time to sew Itch to Stitch
I am participating in the blog tour again this year. This is a time to sew Itch to Stitch patterns we've been meaning to make for long! I have had my eyes on Crystal Cove Cami since it released and the Angelia Shortswere on my #makenine2018! It was absolutely the easiest decision to participate in the blog tour and pick these 2 patterns. Itch to Stitch patterns are very well drafted, have precise yet detailed instructions. Kennis Wong is well respected in the industry for putting out top notch patterns. It is an absolute pleasure to sew ITS patterns!

One of the wonderful sponsors D&H fabrics sent me this beautiful Moonstone in blue (Atelier Brunette) fabric that I absolutely love! More info on the fabric below -

Before I go on with the construction details, I want to mention that both the Crystal Cove Cami and Angelia Shorts are on a FLASH SALE for 24 hours only! TODAY ONLY (9/20), you can get Crystal Cove Cami for $8 and and Angelia Shorts

Itch to Stitch blog tour Day 2

Sewing community is such a vast space spanning multiple continents and what brings everyone together is their love for sewing. When someone in this community is hurting, sewists all over the world come together to make it better. Our much loved designer, Kennis Wong - owner of Itch to Stitch Designs, was robbed a couple of weeks ago leaving her with no way to run her business. This blog tour is promoting Itch to Stitch patterns to make up for some of the monetary loss so she can be back on her feet and produce top notch quality patterns again!

I picked up the Newport top in the recent sale and wanted to make a nice top for this blog tour. I'm also really feeling the velvets this time of the year. Stylish Fabrics is one of the sponsors of this tour and I picked up mauve velvet and charcoal ponte to make my outfit.

The pinky mauve color is probably my all time favorite color for nail paint but I rarely wear clothes in this color. I'm not entirely s…
