Wool, Sheep and Silk cocoons! Last Saturday, Jenni and I went to MD Wool and sheep Festival. It was my first time there but she has gone several times before. DH volunteered to drive me to her house. We woke bright and early, had chai and were at her house around 7:45AM. I fell in love with her yard and who could not love Henry? He is the cutest. This was my first time seeing him though it seems like I've watched him grow - from his pictures. CUTE! So we were at the festival before 9AM. The first thing I noticed were people walking back to the parking with plants. There were some plant sellers at the beginning so I bought some (pictures later) and deposited them in the car. Then we were on yarn hunt. Jenni wanted to start at the main barn - that's where the most vendors were so there we went. On the way to the barn we saw the sheep! There was some sheep activity going on but we were on a mission. I was amazed by all the yarn and couldn't help but touch all the lusciousness....
On a lighter note, If you are asked what you want for your Birthday, what do you suggest they give you? Dresses? Jewelery? Books or CDs? Cash, maybe. I get cash. For buying stash. That is what makes me happy. It used to be cross-stitching stash, but now it is digi-scrapping supplies. I am not increasing the amount of stitching stuff I have, mainly because I had doubts over my 2 year hiatus if I'd even get back to stitching or should I just sell everything I own and have someone finish my WIPs. Yes, I thought about it, but I wasn't sure if I was at that point yet. So, I am doing the wise thing and not spending more on that hobby. Atleast not until I can be sure. I am enjoying stitching for now, but since I was at that point very recently, I have decided to not buy things I wouldn't immediately use. So, the scrapping supplies you saw in the post a couple of days ago were mostly (if not all) from Birthday money. And there is a lot more. Can you handle another such post? :grin...
Just to show you How hard my life is! LOL! I have all these pretties to play work with over the weekend. The only obligations are with the CT kits, which are so pretty themselves! ScrapArtist Robyn England Robyn England is giving this kit free on her blog if you sign up for her Friends Mailing list! Gina Miller Gina Miller has her goodies at ScrapBook Byts for 50% off this week! Ztampf CT Kits - Miki Ferkul I also have another Miki's kit - Velvet Vision that is being released on Sunday! Not sure if it's okay to post a preview without her permission, so I won't. Apart from all the scrapping, we are celebrating ThanksGiving tomorrow with some friends. I also will do some stitching and hopefully get an updated picture of the Angel of Love. Last, but not the least, Happy ThanksGiving! Have a great holiday weekend.
Eek! I just realized that I've got the year wrong on the Christmas LO It is 2004, not last Christmas!! Mehul wasn't so small last year! We have decided to wait for the Day After Thanksgiving sales to see if the price on the tree we want goes down. DH also has plans to tour at least 2 other stores (Staples, Sears) that day. Should be interesting to go bright and early with Mehul in the tow. I'm finishing up some work that was due end of this week, but since it's a long weekend, I have to finish it early. Grump!
Christmas is coming.. You see it everywhere now, in the stores, on TV and radio, in the scrap booking galleries and stores, it is here. Still more than a month to go, but okay. We may have found our Christmas Tree. This is the first tree that we're buying together! I initially thought of getting a small tree, 3.5 to 4.5 foot in height. After looking at a 4.5 ft. tree, both of us felt it wasn't the one for us. We need a bigger tree. A 6.5 ft tree at JCPenny seemed appropriate, but it wasn't as 'full'. A friend mentioned Lowes. Off we went, and I (obviously) selected the pricier one, the one which looks just like the real tree. And, it's 7 feet, and prelit, so we don't have to do tedious task of attaching lights. It's really pretty. Girish has agreed on that one, and we are hopefully getting it tonight. I was drooling over the cream and gold ornaments at Michael's the other day. Now I can get them!! Here is the tree. Can you believe it's not a real...
I got it! Well, I decided to check this coat out yesterday while going back home. I picked Mehul up from the daycare and went to Kohl's. Yes, this is from Kohl's. I don't normally shop there, but I had to look at this coat. I figured, it's worth a look. I'm wearing it today LOL It's really beautiful. The photo doesn't show the back, which has more embroidery and a built-in belt. It's really cute. I had to go one size up on this. It doesn't have any give. When I tried it on, a lady who was passing by complimented how beautiful the coat was. And then, Mehul said "Nice, Mama". His first compliment to his mama :) I also got some stuff for Mehul. I can't find the track suit pants online, but they are OshKosh. The Jacket is also OshKosh and has a removable vest. These Big Chill overpants will be so useful in snow. Most of their winterwear is on sale. I think I'll be going back there again :)
Nothing Exciting going on It has gotten rather cold this week here. I have to drop our overcoats at the drycleaner's. I also need to wash our other jackets. Every year, I buy atleast one new coat/jacket. This year, I'm thinking of getting one with some sort of embroidery. I saw some on a site when a stitching friend mentioned it. It would be great to wear over my Salwar Kameez or Sari. I normally avoid wearing these dresses in winter, but if I had a pretty jacket, sure. Something like this would work. I could even wear this over jeans or other pants. Stitching. Yes, I have started stitching again. Yay for me. I picked up the 'Angel of Love' to renew my love of stitching. Here is a WIP Picture from ages ago. Not much done after this. I have to also update my webshots album. I have started a bunch of new projects, and completed some. Scrapping. I'm still scrapping. In fact, I am downloading some new goodies by Diamante Designs (Lori) today. Speaking of that, Lori ha...
Weekend Stash Report Lots to report...where to start...I got a lot of stuff this past weekend, thanks to the sale at ScrapArtist.
