Nothing Exciting going on

It has gotten rather cold this week here. I have to drop our overcoats at the drycleaner's. I also need to wash our other jackets. Every year, I buy atleast one new coat/jacket. This year, I'm thinking of getting one with some sort of embroidery. I saw some on a site when a stitching friend mentioned it. It would be great to wear over my Salwar Kameez or Sari. I normally avoid wearing these dresses in winter, but if I had a pretty jacket, sure. Something like this would work. I could even wear this over jeans or other pants.

Stitching. Yes, I have started stitching again. Yay for me. I picked up the 'Angel of Love' to renew my love of stitching. Here is a WIP Picture from ages ago. Not much done after this. I have to also update my webshots album. I have started a bunch of new projects, and completed some.

Scrapping. I'm still scrapping. In fact, I am downloading some new goodies by Diamante Designs (Lori) today. Speaking of that, Lori has a secret! She'll announce it soon :) The new stuff is To Die For. Trust me.

I never gave an update on Mehul's Transition. He is doing great. He took the new class like a champ. No tears from him or me. Yay. The new class is also a lot more fun, because they get to rotate the classrooms. Computer room, Library, Gym, Coconut Theatre. Oh my. He has a lot of fun there. No more Buggy rides, though. They are only for Toddlers. I'm sure he misses them!

This morning, I was supposed to drop Mehul off at the daycare. DH has been taking him for a few days, but I'm generally the one to do that. DH and Mehul got out of the house, and I came out a little later. Mehul said Bye Bye and started to go toward DH's car. I said, "No, Mehul, you're coming with me." He made such a bad face. Started wailing and saying "Nooooo. Nemo" and went with DH. Sigh. Yes, I know I only have a small car and no DVD player. Guys know their cars LOL

What a gorgeous coat! Where can I get one? LOL And I think it's funny you started stitching again. So have I! Thanks to my trip to CSNF. I can't wait to work on one of the projects tonight.

Working on my shorts muslin

I'm working on my shorts muslin for the Wardrobe contest. The pattern I have selected is something that has been in my stash for a while. I never even took it out of the envelope because I was afraid of what I call 'smile wrinkles'.

They are the wrinkles that form in the front and back crotch areas indicating there is a problem somewhere. So far, I thought my full tummy was a problem and it was not suited for a cute pattern like this, meaning I shouldn't wear cute shorts. WRONG! I have always noticed my RTW shorts ride up in the back, the side seams swing backwards giving a 'duck butt' kind of appearance. It happens to skirts as well but not to that degree. Also, my shorts inseams tend to 'walk upwards' when I move around.
I have been working on resolving the wrinkling problem since the beginning of January. Remember, this is the Year of the Pant for me? I want well fitting pants so I've been at it pretty much any chance I get. Here I'm showi…

Itch to Stitch blog tour 2018

It's time to sew Itch to Stitch
I am participating in the blog tour again this year. This is a time to sew Itch to Stitch patterns we've been meaning to make for long! I have had my eyes on Crystal Cove Cami since it released and the Angelia Shortswere on my #makenine2018! It was absolutely the easiest decision to participate in the blog tour and pick these 2 patterns. Itch to Stitch patterns are very well drafted, have precise yet detailed instructions. Kennis Wong is well respected in the industry for putting out top notch patterns. It is an absolute pleasure to sew ITS patterns!

One of the wonderful sponsors D&H fabrics sent me this beautiful Moonstone in blue (Atelier Brunette) fabric that I absolutely love! More info on the fabric below -

Before I go on with the construction details, I want to mention that both the Crystal Cove Cami and Angelia Shorts are on a FLASH SALE for 24 hours only! TODAY ONLY (9/20), you can get Crystal Cove Cami for $8 and and Angelia Shorts

Fall/Winter Capsule collection 2017

I finished it!!

My Fall/Winter capsule for 2017 is finally complete! The idea had been floating around in my head since spring when I was working on the Spring/Summer capsule. I really wanted to do a Fall/Winter version because it is so much more fun with the accessories. Finally in late summer I put my ideas together on a page and came up with the following inspiration picture -

And here is my final completed capsule. Some of the items have changed quite a bit but the overall idea is still there. I ended up with a whopping 32 items, not counting accessories! I didn't count shoes and accessories because they are just fun additional pieces and I don't consider them part of my capsule. It is different for everyone, I'm sure. The one thing I really wanted but could not get around to was a trenchcoat. I have a few patterns for it, including D&D luzerne. I will get to it in 2018 for sure!

But what is in this capsule? Well, let's do a count - 4 skirts (2 woven, 2 knit), …
